How Many Calories Should A 300 Pound Woman Eat To Lose Weight

How Many Calories Should A 300 Pound Woman Eat To Lose Weight – My name is Amber Clemens (@amber_clemens). I am 29 years old, born and raised in Wisconsin. I currently live in Green Bay and work for a construction company as an administrative assistant. I lost 150 pounds without any dieting or fads.

I can’t remember a time in my life (until now!) when my weight wasn’t a challenge for me. The first time I tried to get pregnant was in high school. Before I was diagnosed with diabetes, my doctor told me to keep a food diary and be active for at least 30 minutes a day. I think I kept it for maybe a week.

At that age, it was hard for me to make this change after seeing my friends eating whatever they wanted. Since then I have tried to lose weight many times in my life, but I always end up restricting my diet, overeating and falling back into old habits. I was a *classic* yo-yo dieter.

I live upstairs so I often have to travel up and down the stairs to get to everything. I only did two trips tonight and halfway through the third trip I had to stop because I was out of breath and tired. At that moment, I realized that this is how I lived. I was 27 years old, about 300 pounds, and struggling to do basic things in life because of my body image.

I promised myself that this time would be different. I was tired of feeling stuck in my own body and I finally felt mentally prepared. Two weeks later, on May 30, 2018, I began my weight loss journey.

First, I gave up fast food and started adding more fruits, vegetables, and lean protein to my diet. Simple but effective.

I didn’t follow a specific calorie deficit and I didn’t follow a specific weight loss plan. I lost 20 kilos in the first month.

After that, I started doing more research and tapping into the resources in my life to make sure I was doing something healthy and sustainable. This is one thing I know has to be different for me this time to make it work; I had to make healthy and sustainable lifestyle changes that I could sustain long term.

Ultimately, all of this led to calorie counting, a simple tool for reducing obesity. Calorie counting worked for me because I didn’t completely cut out certain foods even though I wanted to. If I wanted something, I could still get it, I just had to learn how to fit it into my daily calorie allowance.

When I used to lose weight, I always thought of food as “good” or “bad”, but now my attitude has completely changed.

I realized that there are foods that are more nutritious and make my body feel better when I eat them, not just foods that have a lot of nutrients, but just taste good.

I have found that what works best for me is to eat foods that nourish my body and make me feel good 80% of the time and eat those foods 20% of the time. Being too restrictive hasn’t worked for me in the past, so I’m grateful to have found a balance.

My friend’s house had a gym and we went together. I didn’t know what I was doing – all I knew was that I was determined to get my body moving for at least an hour.

The first night I did all the cardio. I walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and tried the elliptical but couldn’t last more than 30 seconds. I switched to the stationary bike and did 15 minutes. We finish with biceps curls.

That night, I went home and found a gym that included cardio and strength training and stuck to routines I found online (eg PopSugar Fitness workouts on Youtube), making adjustments for to push me when I was tired.

TBH, going to the gym five nights a week was impossible for me, so I developed my love for exercise at home. I was still able to fit in three to five workouts a week, which was much easier.

I currently work out at home three to five times a week, but I’m back at the gym in the new year. I’m going to start focusing more on strength training and being in a gym with lots of equipment will allow me to perform better than home workouts. I am so excited to get back to the gym and challenge myself.

Last August I went to run a 5k without work. If you told me I was going to run a 5k before starting this journey, I wouldn’t have believed you.

The Everyday Challenges Of Weighing 300 Pounds

I am not a dieter. I didn’t study exercise science in school. I am a woman who has had a bad relationship with food my whole life. I ate fast food every day, sometimes several times a day. I was a secret eater. I would put food in my room/car/bags and eat alone so no one would see. I knew I was hurting myself, but I didn’t understand and I wasn’t ready to change. I was until one day.

I started slow, made simple changes and things started to click. I am the epitome of the saying: “If I can, anyone can.” I changed for myself and no one else. I have embraced all the changes this journey has brought me, mentally and physically, and I am healthier and happier.

There were times when I wanted to give up and go back to my old life. But on my worst days, I remember why I started on the steps of the store and how miserable I was that night.
